Regional Sales Manager, New England | Commercial Bakery Equipment Company
We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to develop and grow its New England bakery territory (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire). This role is responsible for the full sales cycle, from prospecting through equipment selection, quoting, negotiation, and post-sale support, working directly with bakery and foodservice operators across the region. The Regional Sales Manager will report to the VP of Sales and Marketing and operate as part of a small, established sales organization. We are looking for a results-driven salesperson who thrives in growth environments, excels at building strong customer relationships and identifying new opportunities, and consistently turns opportunities into measurable results.
Key Responsibilities • Manage the full sales cycle within the New England territory, including lead qualification, equipment selection, quoting, negotiation, and closing • Build and maintain long-term relationships with retail bakeries, wholesale bakeries, commercial chains, supermarkets, and industrial accounts • Recommend equipment solutions based on customer production needs, working from manufacturer specifications and pricing across brand portfolio • Conduct on-site visits to verify space, clearance, power, water, and delivery requirements ahead of installation • Coordinate with internal team to support orders through ordering, shipping, and installation • Represent at trade shows and industry association events • Maintain accurate records of leads, quotes, orders, and account notes within the company's sales systems
Qualifications • A minimum of 3 years of experience in one of the following: bakery or foodservice equipment sales, bakery or kitchen operations (baking, pastry, or restaurant management), or a sales-adjacent operational role (installation, project management, or design) within the foodservice equipment or food manufacturing industries • Comfortable managing a defined geographic territory and building relationships in person • Ability to read and apply equipment specifications, including clearance, utility, and installation requirements • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the region and other areas as required • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications • Formal culinary or baking education (e.g., Culinary Institute of America, Johnson & Wales University, American Institute of Baking) or a Certified Foodservice Professional (CFSP) credential through NAFEM • Experience with CRM or quoting platforms; AutoQuotes a plus • Spanish language proficiency
